Playing Catch-up

I have been slowly editing my photos from the road trip. Here's a sneak peak.

1. Route 66 - Here it is sign, 2. Route 66 - Sun 'n Sand, 3. Route 66, 4. Route 66 - Oklahoma

I have been catching up on everything else back in the real world including my disaster of a house (neither Mike nor I have been home lately), my blogging your way e-course (absolutely love it, but I really wish I didn't have more than a week's worth of amazing posts to read now, it's easier to go day by day), and my sewing e-course, in which I am woefully behind. Embarrassingly so. Good thing the class materials remain up for a whole year. If you didn't catch my post about guesting on Campfire Chic, here is the link for that post. Even if you are not a camper, you will enjoy these recipes.

Anyway, I would rather know what is going on with everyone else since I have been out of contact for a couple of weeks (aside from auto-blogging). So tell me, what are you up to?

P.S. I'm rockin' the Heidi Braids today. I never knew this hairstyle was this easy (and cute).

Recovering

Hey, I'm back! At the moment, I'm moving as gingerly as possible because 9 days of driving was not great for my lower back! I'm also nursing some general exhaustion and a multitude of mosquito bites. The mosquitos seemed to attack me between getting out of my car at campsites and going to the trunk to grab my bug spray.

And speaking of camping, you can catch me over at Campfire Chic today, sharing some camping recipes. Yum! If you're not a camper, you can make them at home, too.

This bread was devoured very quickly in my house :)

Gettin' My Kicks - Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch

On my first Route 66 leg, I stopped in Oro Grande, CA when I spotted what is apparently Elmer Long's Bottle Tree Ranch. At the time when I was there, I didn't know exactly where I was, I just spotted the amazing bottle sculptures out of my car window and pulled over to take some pictures.

What a cool idea, eh? That's what I call upcycling.

I'll interrupt your regularly-scheduled autoposting...

...for this announcement! I have officially finished my (backwards, according to Route 66 fanatics) journey from Flagstaff to Chicago. I traveled solely on the remaining portions of Route 66 (which is a lot, I was on the interstates very rarely), so it took 7 days of driving to accomplish. Now I have 2 days to drive back!!

I did some tweeting on the way (minimal in later states because I was concentrating more on taking pictures with my camera, rather than my phone), so I have reproduced the appropriate road trip tweets here if anyone would like to see them. I included my travel grievances, since those are just fun.

Please start at the bottom and read up as most recent tweets are on top!
